Prior to the start of the event, the coordinator of the Africa Code Week for Cameroon – Mr. Jerome Monteu Nana arrived at TBIS, for a last planning meeting with Mr. Mugagga and the ICT Department.
At about 12:30 p.m., on the day of the event, participants, who were principally teachers of ICT/Computer Science from Secondary/High Schools around Douala.
At 13:00 p.m., the attendees were asked to move up to the two ICT labs for the commencement of the Train The Trainer (TTT) scratch programming session.
The TTT session started at 13: 30 p.m. with the launching of scratch tutorials.
The teachers were engaged in a highly hands – on, interactive, scratch – programming tutorial conducted by Trainers from France and Germany who were members of Mr. Jerome’s team.
This session witnessed the presence of dignitaries like the Regional Delegate of the Ministry of Youth and Civic Education, Littoral – Mr. Terrestra Nang and the General coordinator of ICT for the Littoral Region – Mr. Ntulla
There was media coverage and participants could share their opinions and experience in an interview with Equinox TV.
At 6:30 p.m., participants were asked to move down to the gym for the official launching of the program which started at 6:40 p.m. with a welcome word from Mr. Jerome Monteu Nana and followed by:
• A word from the Regional Delegate of the m Ministry of Youth and Civic Education, Littoral – Mr. Terrestra Nang.
• A word from the General Coordinator of ICT for the Littoral Region – Mr. Ntulla.
• Award of certificates to workshop participants.
• Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between TBIS and the Youth Thinkers Program of SAP.
• Closing remarks from Mr. Jerome Monteu Nana.
• Refreshment at TBIS canteen
The event ended at 8: 00 P.m.
